http://www.academia.org.br/abl/cgi/cgilua.exe/sys/start.htm?sid=23 (to verify that a word does exist in PT, especially BR)
http://dictionary.reference.com/

I also use some TM databases from the Internet, and although they're not always realiable, they can help achieve a better result:
