Dear colleagues,

I have a subtitling job that requires me to do a director's cut, 1850 subtitles, for less than 12 hours.

How much do you think I should charge in such a super-urgent case, as the payment already offered is ridiculously low?

Your opinion will be much appreciated!

Sincerely,
Pavel

It is practically impossible to do it, anyhow. Feb 24, 2006

I agree with Giovanni.

From my experience I can safely say you will not be able to pull off 1850 subtitles in 12 hours, whatever the rates may be.

The wisest thing to do is to say no, loud and clear, or negotiate a new deadline (allowing at least a good four days for the job).

Best,

Katerina

1850 subtitles in 12 hours? Feb 24, 2006

Forget it, that's impossible!

I agree, it's virtually impossible to do that much work in such a short period of time! For the sake of your reputation, I would not accept such a job. It sounds like they have unrealistic expectations and don't want to pay you anything
Not good.

Impossible? :-) Mar 9, 2006

I am very proud and pleased to announce that I did it

I wanted to do it, because it was a tight situation and I wanted to help the employer out... the only downside was that the payment was still quite on the low side, but I have no regrets as it was a great challenge and I'm proud of coping with it!

Thank you all for your replies
