Okay, perhaps I was overreaching with that title, but you can exercise yourself before picking a name by writing down names you should never use.
Moan Translations - Porn linguistics specialists.
Ling Guist services.
Missionary Language Services.
Nothing serious, but something to get your creative juices going. By the time you come up with a few of those, you will find it easier to pick a name that is actually respectful and meaningful.
Your name... | Apr 15, 2013 |
...sounds fine in English.
I would suggest that you use a name for your business that does not pin you down to something specific. You may wish to change...
A generic meaningful name would go a longer way. Say Ace Translations. UrTranslations. Translatenow
People will find it easier to understand what you do just by looking at the name

Oh gosh I read this wrongly at first. You make a very good point, particularly relevant to when you have many languages to consider, as we do! Thank you.
Your name is unique | Jun 10, 2013 |
One of the problems you have when you use a business name is that you can be mistaken with someone else.
For example, business names like Translation Service, Translate Now, Translation (whatever) are already taken (and even though they are not, people might take them in the future). The problem with this is one day when your satisfied clients want to find you, they might contact someone else by mistake. (I always find it confusing that many agencies use the names that sound much alike). Especially when you work on the global market, it is difficult to find a unique activity-based name.
Using your own name will save you this kind of identity problems, especially when your name is not the most common one. Mine is Khwansuree Derollepot, a Thai first name and a French last name, might not be the most attractive but I can be sure my clients cannot make a mistake when they want to reach me.

Definitely -- as so many have already suggested.
Avoid using a name that you may regret if you change your line of business in the future.
