German term
stufenlose Applikation
German to English

nail gel
This is one of the benefits listed for a range of nail art gels, which is also described as hochdeckend, selbstglättend, kein Verlaufen, kein Umrühren etc.
I'm unsure how to interpret "stufenlos" here and would welcome another perspective. "Stufenlos" literally meaning "without steps", does this mean that the gel is applied in just the one coating (no need for priming or any other product underneath), or does it infer the infinite ways in which the products can be used, i.e. versatility?
Thanks for your ideas!

I think what it means here is that when you apply the nail art, it will not have raised edges which can then be felt afterwards.

Many thanks for your suggestion WML. This had actually crossed my mind, but I'd ruled it out due to the fact that the "selbstglättend" that comes before this term seems to imply that it is self-smoothing, or, as jccantrell suggests, "spreads evenly and thinly upon application". It is definitely a possibility though. |

: My thought, too. However, being paid by the word, I might opt for "spreads evenly and thinly upon application." :)

One-Stroke Nail Art
Painter and craftswoman Donna Dewberry is perhaps best known in the art world as the inventor of the One-Stroke painting technique, a method that allows painters to blend, shade, and highlight all in one stroke of a brush.
