Greetings Colleagues,

Just today, I have been unable to use the Babylon 9.0 dictionary software that has functioned without incident on my computer for at least a year.

I am running Windows XP, Service Pack 3 on an IBM Lenovo Z60M.

Just today, I have been unable to use the Babylon 9.0 dictionary software that has functioned without incident on my computer for at least a year.

I am running Windows XP, Service Pack 3 on an IBM Lenovo Z60M.

At first, I thought the error might be caused by a conflict between Babylon 9.0 and Q-Translate. I installed Q-Translate on Thursday (five days ago), and used both Q-Translate and Babylon 9.0 at the same time with no conflicts every day since then.

Just in case, I uninstalled and re-installed both Q-Translate and Babylon 9.0, but this did not resolve the problem.

I have attempted to use MS Windows System Restore to revert to a checkpoint prior to this problem, but my system is unable to do that for some reason, even as I select various checkpoints.

The exact message I get is:

“Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Babylon\Babylon-Pro\Babylon.exe

abnormal program termination.”


*Babylon.com’s website seems to be down today, as well, which may explain the problem.
This also means that I can’t find a phone # for technical support.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
