Dear colleagues, Does anybody know a procedure to convert .wstd files into a format that can be searched with Xbench? Thank you. Regards, Doreen
Just open it in Xbench. | | | Convert Idiom glossary files (.wstd) into Xbench searchable format | Jun 28, 2012 |
Hello Sergei, Thank you for your comment. I am afraid I cannot figure out which file type I have to use to open it directly. If I choose "Deja Vu / Idiom File", only .wsprj files can be selected. If I choose "Deja Vu / Idiom Memory Files", only .wstm files can be selected. Please advise. Thank you. Regards, Doreen

Hi Doreen, Did you finally come across a solution to have wstd files properly loaded in Xbench? I tried to drag the wstd file onto the "Project properties" dialog in Xbench and the file is loaded as a tab-delimited text file, but searches won't display results properly. Any hint? Thanks a lot, Fede

Hello again Doreen, I am afraid I may not be of any help to you now, but I have just found a workaround which someone might find useful in the future. Here's the step-by-step procedure: 1- Copy the .wstd file and rename it .mdb 2- Open the .mdb file in MS Excel (Click "Enable" if a security warning message appears) 3- Chose "Lemmas" in the table selection dialog that appears. 4- Delete all columns except "Lemmas" 5- Click cell B2 6- C... Hello! 1. Searching termbases in Idiom is no problem at all: - Select a termbase in the folder of Idiom projects (Idiom -> My TDs -> Your termbase), - Idiom WorldServer opens the termbase, - In the second row under “File – Edit – View – Tools – Window – Help” Second button from the right is Find (Ctrl+F, Find text), - A well known dialogue “Find text” appears, where any word (term) can be easily found. 2.
