Hi,

I currently use Multiterm to manage terminology in an inhouse translation department and am wondering if there are any low-cost terminology management tools (for example, for extracting terms from text, or that might actually take the place of Multiterm) that might improve productivity and quality in term management. We mainly do Japanese to English translations.

Thanks for any ideas you might have,

Mike Holland

You may try AnyLexic (www.anylexic.com). It is low-cost and simple in use, and the web site contains interactive tutorials for it (http://www.anylexic.com/Terminology_Management_Software_Tutorials.html). And it also have Server version, so a team of translators can similtaneously work in the same termbase, both through local network and via Internet. E.g. you can set up a glossary on your computer and let the other translators to work in it.

This tool has 30-days evaluation period, so you may try and find out if it suits your needs
