I think an option that is missing is "in person". Now my answer was "e-mail", and that is how I receive the majority of my jobs, but those are mostly smaller jobs.
Some of the really big jobs I get involve paper documents from local clients that can be weighed by the kilo. In terms of actual work volume, then, more of it is delivered in person; either they come to my place or I go to theirs. The product is also delivered the same way, these are certified translations on paper.

I answered email, but it's not unusual for me to run across town with a diskette or, nowadays, memory stick in my pocket to receive or deliver a job. It's a great way to combine work and exercise!

I answered e-mail. but half of my translations are certified documents that must be delivered in paper, with the original glued at the end of the translation to make a sole document.
So, even though I can receive an email, at the end, my clients need to come to my office with the hard copy.

Henry's mention of "volume" made me rethink my answer. The greater part -- by number of jobs -- of my work comes via email. But if I figure my actual earnings, well, most of that comes from big jobs like books or films.
So far, books have always been handed to me in person. The films are documentaries made here in Puerto Rico. The first was given to me in person; since then, it's a phone contact to confirm and then a DVD and a transcript via snailmail.
Like nearly everyone else, I answered "email"; that may have been inaccurate.
Just a thought on the results--the agency I know best still gets a great deal of work via fax and in person. They do lots of Internet research, including consulting the KOG, but they don't do things like answer polls on websites. I suspect there are many others like them out there.

You mean the dusty machine in the corner of our office? The one that occasionally beeps and spits out some mass publicity? We really appreciate that unwanted publicity... just to keep bugs from developing a civilised society inside the machine!

Nowadays, almost anyone encounters their clients personally. The most common "personal" way of receiving or delivering our work is through the Internet. It is fantastic, but at the same time, we are losing the kind of personal interaction that translators used to have. Anyway, we have to get accustomed to it. Sometimes, I have to download my work from ftp. Regards!

Such dusty machine still works in my office, specially for documents given to people in hard copy (birth & marriage certificates, academic transcripts, police records, with a lot of pages used in their consularization process).
Fernando, as you pointed out "we are losing the kind of personal interaction that translators used to have." That's true, I have contact with many clients only via email, since the first time. In other cases, I have worked for them for years on a telephone-based relation. However, there are lots of clients who come to pick up their jobs and end up talikng for hours and hours about their personal lives, etc. Some of them, even have cups of coffee and snacks in their "visits".

Wow. Can I visit you too please?  Our nearest customer is 1.500 km away and only one of them visited us in our office in 11 years. We do meet them when they travel to Madrid for tourism reasons, but it has never felt like a business meeting. All in all, our coffee and snacks end up in.... our bellies!

was another option missing here...
I can't say I am very surprised to see that appr. 95 % voted for e-mail. Of course, as somebody already mentioned, for some huge jobs with 30+ MB our clients often put the files on their server so we can download it from there.
But again, there are some clients who don't know this option, so I wasn't very happy when my mail client started to download a 50 MB mail ;-(

Directly in the client's server, with online tools or directly in dynamical databases. So I don't receive them by e-mail and don't download by FTP. This is recent, though, last year I worked for 90% with e-mails, the rest was coming by snail mail, Chronopost or DHL.
