Search capability on the internet Jun 4, 2007

This is by far the best tool any translator can have, since it encompasses dictionaries, glossaries, expert knowledge, specific field expertise, and much more.

Of course, it does require the skill to weed out the chaff...

And this does not mean there are not other useful tools, like paper and electronic dictionaries, printed catalogues, etc., nor that we should rely exclusively on the internet.

So far I agree with you all!

Plus, I might add, "Proz.com", the end of our isolation, we are alone no more!

Absolutely agree, Henry. Plus the invaluable help I've received from generous Prozians who've answered my Kudoz questions when all else failed! Thank you, everyone.
Regards,
Jenny.

search engines Jun 5, 2007

In my experience the value of Kudoz help has gone downhill in the nearly 3 years I've been here to the extent that I don't make use of it at all these days.

Search engines and the Internet generally are just priceless. I have no idea what I would do without them.
