I have just changed it to something along the same lines (I used [reposndent's] belief systems [about the sport]) but I also like background information.

Am I correct to assume this text is not part of the math & stats, but rather a part of the survey?</br>
If so, could it be that they are asking for עולמות תוכן of the participant in the survey, to find out what stands behind the statements? In which case I would imagine it's just a fancy way for saying background information.</br>
BTW, היגדים would be statements.
