Dass die Leute im Rücken fehlen.

DJ, career
The speaker is talking about the career of DJs. I don't understand what he means with "dass die Leute im Rücken fehlen."
Thank you

that the people who hold his back are missing.
The people in the background pulling the strings are missing.

that the people behind him are missing.
Like in the old worker's song "We Shall Not Be Moved"
>>The union is behind us, we shall not be moved

Some text was cut when I posted it: To stand behind somebody in the sense of to support him.

Discussion
To both of you, enjoy your weekend!

A relatively literal option:
"So what I'm hearing from you is that you have to be authentic and believe in your uniqueness stick with it, and promote that with confidence.
Yes and surrounded yourself with people who have your back."

"Your inner circle needs to be as robust as you. There are times when the going gets tough - really tough - and you need people who back you all the way."

The actual point is, though, that it's not a one-man show, so I like this one the most:
"However, behind every major successful DJ is a team of people who work together to build the DJ’s brand and keep them at the forefront of the industry."
