Swedish term

arbetslivet

Swedish to English Bus/Financial Government / Politics
I am looking for an alternative expression other than "the working life" for arbetslivet.

As for context, this relates to the right to privacy (or not) with employer-owned digital devices - integritetsfrågor i arbetslivet

Discussion

Charlesp (asker) Feb 17, 2022:
yes, that's why I am looking for multiple possibilities
Christopher Schröder Feb 17, 2022:
You’re going to need to tailor it to the exact context. In an employment relationship, in work, that kind of thing.

Swedish term (edited): i arbetslivet

in the workplace; occupationally; vocationally

'on-the-job' in BrE is ambiguous - see the Italian 2nd web ref. for a recent, hilarious suggestion.

On-site is not quite right either - cf. a hospital surgeon or an airline or helicopter pilot
Example sentence:

Lärande i Arbetslivet English translation: On-the-Job Training (OJT); work-placement, apprenticeship

Integrity in the workplace comes in many forms, but above all refers to having upstanding character traits and work ethics including sound judgement, honesty, dependability, and loyalty.
