steno sensitivi

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Physical examination report
"Assenza di deficit steno-sensitivi"

From a Swiss pharmacovigilance report. The patient came to the emergency room complaining of visual hallucinations. This is part of the physical examination report. The line before this says the cranial nerves are intact.

Discussion

Joseph Tein Dec 30, 2019:
sensory Neurological writing uses "sensory" rather than "sensitivity"
liz askew Dec 30, 2019:
Wouldn't it be sensory-motor deficit?
Shera Lyn Parpia (asker) Dec 30, 2019:
so what about No muscle strength or sensitivity deficits
Shera Lyn Parpia (asker) Dec 30, 2019:
No, I hadn't, thank you. But what about the "sensitivi" part?
Fiona Grace Peterson Dec 30, 2019:
Weakness? Have you seen this previous KudoZ question?

no strength or sensory deficits

I think Liz has a valid point, however I don't think "motor" and "strength" are exactly the same thing.

"Clinical examination in July 2002 indicated no neurologic findings with respect to sensory changes or strength deficits in the lower extremity muscle groups and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in September 2002 revealed no definite disc herniation or cord compression."

"Careful clinical descriptions from many large CMT1A cohorts have not reported significant asymmetry in muscle strength or sensory deficits."

"If strength or sensory deficits are apparent, referral for neurologic evaluation is important."

agree Joseph Tein : Hi Fiona. Agree with "strength" ... see my note to Liz above. And "sensory" is correct (as opposed to the "sensitivity" suggestion.)

from what I can see on searching "steno" refers to "stenosis", which makes little sense here.

neutral Joseph Tein : Ciao Liz. I have in my Italian glossary "stenia" = strength (as in asthenia). https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/sthenia
