English term

one-to-many learning

English to French Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
One aspect is the learning dynamic. Learning can be:
• solitary- for example, reading or studying on your own;
• one-to-one- for example mentoring, coaching or private tutoring;
• one-to-many- for example, conventional lectures, in which one person speaks to a group;
• many-to-many- for example, collaborative group learning, group discussion.
One learning programme can use a combination of these situations; this is called ‘blended learning’. For example, this FPL programme combines solitary learning (reading a self-study workbook and completing the activities) with one-to-one learning (when you interact with one other learner or the tutor), one-to-many (when you send a message to the whole group), and many-to-many (when you engage in a group discussion).

Example sentence:

magistral

I think the idea of sending a message is just another way of saying 'communicating an idea or ideas'.

I'll give you a reference concerning university

but not too happy with it, because 'cours magistral' can refer to a class in a secondary school where the teacher speaks and the students just take notes..

And I would use seul(e) rather than solitaire. Just my two cents.

agree Alain Boulé : I would say "cours collectif"

Thanks. But cours collectif won't fit the send a message to the whole group idea. Apprentissage collectif?
