agree neilmac : Not an issue of right or wrong, simply common usage. "Ficha" is very widely used in Spain.

I don't know who got it wrong, Neil, but we are not talking about the same thing. To me, "una ficha" is not a document certifying your membership, but a kardex card or data sheet with a member's data, which the party keeps for control purposes.

Although MEW is indeed more strictly correct, I am not withdrawing my suggestion because I believe it sounds more natural to include "membership" in the phrase.

neutral María Eugenia Wachtendorff : Neil, I don't think the image corresponds to a "ficha." That's a party credential, not a record card/sheet.

In Spain, "ficha" is loosely used to refer to any type of record/file/expedient/card, also pieces in games like draughts/chess/monopoly etc, and figuratively, which I believe is the meaning here, referring to their membership of the party.
