O terceiro Powwow Internacional de Porto Alegre obteve um sucesso retumbante do início ao fim.

Marcado para as 20h da última sexta-feira, ele na verdade começou bem antes — mais especificamente, quando Luciano Monteiro, Leonardo Milani e Fabian Stoffers iniciaram uma longa e sofrida jornada de retorno de Gramado, prejudicada por um trânsito congestionado na BR-116 e por motoristas kamikazes já em Porto Alegre.

Após momentos de grande tensão e dramaticidade, o trio conseguiu chegar ao Dado Pub com dois minutos de antecedência ao horário previsto — pelo menos conforme a precisão suíça do relógio de Leonardo. No local, já estavam aguardando Cristina von Heuser e Rita Brossard. Logo em seguida, compareceram também Lota Moncada, Laís Leite, Leila Kommers, Marilene Tombini e Luiz Araújo.

Em meio à escolha das bebidas e dos pratos, todos se apresentaram em inglês e/ou português e iniciaram uma longa e frutífera troca de informações e experiências profissionais. Cristina e Luiz já haviam saído quando chegou Henrique Guerra, o 11º integrante que assegurou o recorde de participações do evento.

Já nos primeiros minutos do dia seguinte, a maioria dos participantes atravessou a rua para encerrar a noite no Mulligan, onde um festival de Guinness e Kir Royale marcou a ocasião no andar superior do pub.

Encerrado o evento, fica o agradecimento aos presentes e a certeza de que todos voltarão a se encontrar muito em breve para o quarto Powwow Internacional de Porto Alegre.

My third powwow was an amazing, unforgettable opportunity to network and to speak about literature & castles, Venice movies (such as Summertime [Quando o coração floresce] and Don’t Look Now [Inverno de Sangue em Veneza]), German filmmakers, German geography, German football teams, language subtleties (lavar com sabão e água x lavar com água e sabão), dissimilarities among Montevideo and Porto Alegre, beer temperature, what they don’t teach you in Translation School (or how to make the right moves to succeed in business), etc. Special guest Fabian had to undergo a tough schedule, but I’m glad to see that he survived after all.

I am 41 now and it has become a tough task for me to fly 14 hrs over the Atlantic ocean one day, fly from BA to PA on the next day, followed by 2 nights of a challenging (but wonderful) program with a typical Luciano drinks vs. sleep ratio. ;-)

Hope you will not find out too soon for yourself.

I loved to meet you all at the 2011Powwow, organized by Luciano Monteiro... Talking about him, where is his/your comment? I really want to be invited to the next one, but I\'m afraid I can\'t make it to Brasilia. If instead, you choose São Paulo, I\'d be glad to join you all there...

Thanks to all the wonderful people I was allowed to join for the great and unforgettable powwow in Porto Alegre. Although I am still a little hungover by the post-powwow, I will do my best to improve my performance and not present any silly excuses when Milani invites us to the next powwow in Brasilia.

Caros amigos,

Após uma emocionante viagem de cerca de seis horas de Porto Alegre para Brasília (o aeroporto de Londrina - que era a escala - fechou cinco minutos antes de decolarmos) e uma tarde pesada de sono, cá estou postando as tão esperadas fotos (estava sem o cabo para transferí-las comigo), que provam que não tivemos um delírio coletivo e que o evento realmente aconteceu (sempre bom saber). Espero que gostem.

E espero que teremos em breve um próximo encontro. E se for em Brasília, estou esperando vocês aqui. Ninguém tem desculpa para não vir, a começar pelo Fabian!!
