Hi everyone,

I was just wondering: maybe we could compile a list of national (official) online registers of business entities?
For instance, looking up a individually-owned business or a company in Poland is relatively easy as there is an official government website (available in English) where you can search for all businesses: https://www.biznes.gov.pl/en/wyszukiwarka-firm/ (formally there are two types of registers - one (CEIDG) for individuals doing business and the other (KRS) for companies founded under Commercial Companies Code, but this website searches both).
I think it could help us in preventing scams by detecting non-existing businesses.
So, if you know of such registers in your country, please post them here.

The concerned Web sites in France Jan 14, 2023

Hi Marek,

This is a good idea, as we all have/had to use these tools at least once in our professional life

For France where I reside, there are two Web sites you can consult:

For France where I reside, there are two Web sites you can consult:

1. Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés (RCS) (Business Register) : managed by the court clerks of France's commercial courts, the site give you informations about Certificate of registration, beneficial owners, debt reports, official documents, annual financial, modifications history, insolvency proceedings. Some of these info are free, most are (reasonably) charged.

2. Bulletin officiel des annonces civiles et commerciales (bodacc) (Bulletin of Companies' Legal Declarations) : official site of legal declarations of companies including registration and modification, financial insolvency and recovery, termination, bequest. You can follow certain companies if you register. Free of charge.

Best wishes,

Sammy
