When you are in the new profile format, you may see this sign:
"The URL of your profile in this new format is http://www.proz.com/profile/xxxx8. For more information please click here".
However, if you ckick "here", you go nowhere, it takes you to a deleted forum, URL http://www.proz.com/topic/xxx... See more

This should be updated so that anybody may leave opinion on profile formats.

An idea! Jul 26, 2006

Project History has proved to be a very useful feature.

However, it is hard to see and to get at in the new profile.

Yes, I know you can set it so that any visitor can see a summary on the front page. But this is not enough. If the visitor wants to read or to know more, he/she has to investigate how to do it, find out that he/she has to click on the + "Click for standardized information", scroll down, find Project History and again click on the + sign.

I wonder if it wouldn`t be easier, faster, nicer, friendier, to have just a PH tab as we used to have in the old profile.
PH is a feature that deserves to be higlighted, not hidden.

I`d appreciate it if you do something about this, please.

An easy solution might be to insert a "+" sign next to "Project History Summary", right on the front page of the new profile, instead of a tab. I tried to add the tab myself but unsuccesfully.

I think this could work.

My 2 cents.

Walter

When will we have a single profile format again? Oct 26, 2006

I understand that this is a transition phase, but it has been 6 months now since the introduction of the new format, and I wonder how much longer the transition phase is supposed to be.

Having different profile formats defeats the very purpose of profiles.

I trust you guys to have made valuable improvements in the new format. If some features are not wanted by everyone, just make them optional.

But what matters even more is that there be ONE SINGLE format,

But what matters even more is that there be ONE SINGLE format, so that:

- profiles can easily be compared
- information can easily be found
- things look SIMPLE (to both translators and agencies), instead of the present confusion
- we can optimize our profiles by relying on one single format

Thanks for listening,

Jacques

I know lots of people don't like the new format (I love it, myself), but it needs to be uniform. There are things I don't like about the new one, but there's no way to satisfy everyone.
