I found an article in English (I'm happy, don't need to write it myself ), which confirms what I announced on last December 21st :
AFSSAPS (Agence Française de Sécurité SAnitaire des Produits de Santé)
French medicine agency) will officially become before August 1st, at the
latest :

ANSM = Agence Nationale de Sécurité des Médicaments et des produits de
santé.

ANSM = Agence Nationale de Sécurité des Médicaments et des produits de
santé.
(the official abbreviation being shorter than what the full name would produce)


The article says that an official decree is pending,

BUT :

the official ANSM site is already operational : http://www.ansm.sante.fr/
