What do the different working operations in subtitling mean? It is evident what transcribe, translate and timing mean, and I know the approximate meaning of the other terms also. But I do not know how to translate these terms and put on my Swedish CV. Wonder if anyone could help me?

These are the terms:

transcribe
translate
conform
timing
standalone QA
transcribe full QA
translate full QA
conform full QA
timing full

timing - time-coding Dec 15, 2013

Hi Fredrik,
I would leave the word timing as either timing or time-coding, which is more common in subtitling terms.

For the rest of the terms you can view my lecture about the subtitling process:

Time-coding has a correspondent in Swedish Dec 15, 2013

Hi Zehavit,

Time-coding would work, the correspondent Swedish term is Tidskodning.

For the term Conform, I found this website where Conform seems to be a concept that should be left untranslated (as there are several types of Conform, so to paraphrase it would take up too much space):

The only term I can not find anything about is Spot. Do they mean something performed on-the-spot? Or do they mean to make QA on a small selection?

'Synonyms: timing, cueing. Formerly, a mechanical procedure carried out
independently of the content and nuances of the dialogue by technicians (repérage). Now used to describe the process of defining the in and out times of individual subtitles.'

http://www.transedit.se/glossary.htm

Hope this helps.
