Whenever an email is sent through your profile, I'm sure you will be familiar with the text attached at the bottom, which reads something like:

Your profile: [url removed] *your_profile_number_here*
Login at: [url removed]
Edit your profile mail preferences: [url removed]
Block profile messages from this sender: [url removed] *sender's_IP_address_here*&add_email_block=*sender's_email_address_here*&add_eid_block=*sender's_ProZ_ID_here*
Unsolicited advertising? Spam? click here: [url removed]

I generally click on both 'Block profile messages from this sender' and also the 'Unsolicited advertising/Spam' link for this type of spam. It's instant and painless!

Spam is spam, is it funny, or stupid, or whatever. When somebody is sending any spam through dozens of profiles, s/he should be stopped from doing this for sure.

Natalia,

Out of respect to your dedicated work as a moderator, which I'm sure takes a lot of time and effort, I will report it. You might help me do it by telling me how to do so, as have never done it before and simply don't know how.

But I still think it's more funny than dangerous. I am convinced that my colleagues are educated and intelligent people, and I simply cannot imagine a single one of them taking this declaration of love from a stranger, full of misspellings and grammatical mistakes (not to mention the gender confusion) seriously.

To stay sane, in situations like this I consciously choose to laugh rather than get angry. With this attitude, I did not need psychiatrists so far!

There is no 100% fool-proof method to stop e-mails like this from coming (unless you want to filter out a lot of potential clients in the process).

Just use you "delete" button!

The letter had the correct e-mail name and address for me on my private account with MSN and therefore did not going through any filters other than listed as possible "junk" since I did not have the senders address in my address book.

Scam and spam are two different things.
