My nationality is South Korean, but I grew up and studied abroad in all English speaking environments. So, I guess you can say that I have two native languages. Besides English and Korean, I am also fluent in Japanese, receiving a language degree in it and living in Japan for more than 7 years. I acquired JLPT Level 1 certification in 2008. Furthermore, I have attained a high level of proficiency in Chinese and have great interest in translating Chinese technical documents.

Areas of Expertise

Technical translation: Factory automation, industrial machines, product manuals, technical journals, power electronics, power generation, inverters, semiconductors, software, and hardware.

Legal and business translation: Contracts, agreements, NDAs, website terms of service, warranties, trade documents, in-house company regulations, and procurement systems.

Some of the companies that I have done work for include Samsung, Mitsubishi Electric, Coca Cola, Rakuten, and Huawei Group.

CAT Tools and Data Processing

SDL Trados 2019, SDL Trados 2017, Deja Vu X3, Memsource, Xbench, ABBYY Finereader (for PDF and OCR) 

Can create custom TMs and glossaries and reformat data for use in CAT tools or databases (SQL, csv, Berkeley DB, etc.) using scripting languages such as Python or Perl.

Personal Interests and Projects

I am also interested in Koine Greek and am cooperating in an on-going New Testament translation project at Truth Discovery Version, which is attempting to correct some common mistranslations present in conventional New Testament translations.
