Bill Reinert, who helped design Toyota Motor Corp.'s Prius hybrid, hovers in a helicopter 1,000 feet over Fort McMurray, Alberta. On this clear November morning, he's craning for a look at one of the world's largest petroleum reserves where there's not an oil well in sight. Instead, in a 2-mile-wide pit below, trucks head to refineries with loads of sand weighing more than Boeing 747s. Yellow flames shoot skyward as 900-degree-Fahrenheit (482-degree- Celsius) heat liquefies any embedded petroleum. Floating scarecrows and propane-powered cannons do their best to chase migrating birds from lethal wastewater ponds. Eventually, nuclear reactors may surround the crater 270 miles (435 kilometers) northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, delivering the power required to wring oil from sand.
"This is what the end of the age of oil means," says Reinert, 60, who plans the vehicles that Toyota will make in a quarter of a century as national manager for advanced technology at the U.S. sales unit in Torrance, California. "The car-based culture, the business-as- usual of building cars and trucks, is going to change dramatically."
Since Henry Ford introduced the moving assembly line in 1913, the world's automakers have relied on a single source of power--the gasoline-dependent internal combustion engine. Today, the twin threats of $100-a-barrel oil and global warming are convulsing an industry addicted to cheap, abundant petroleum. Auto companies, already hurt in 2007 by the lowest U.S. demand in a decade, are struggling to perfect cars that run on ethanol, diesel, natural gas, hydrogen and household electricity. They're under the gun from California and more than a dozen other states to cut carbon exhaust by 2020 with vehicles that must get 44 miles per gallon (19 kilometers per liter) of gasoline, about double today's average. On Dec. 19, President George W. Bush signed a law that mandates fuel-efficiency of 35 mpg nationwide by that year.

Source text - English Khadeeja Bint Khuwailid (May Allah be pleased with her) was a very intelligent and chaste businesswoman from Makkah. She had been widowed twice and many men wished to marry her but she rejected their proposals. Khadeeja hired Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), before he became a prophet, to work for her and she sent him on a business trip to Syria with her servant Maisarah.
The business venture was successful and Maisarah reported back to Khadeeja about the Prophet Muhammad’s amazing character, honesty and trustworthy nature. Khadeeja was so impressed with the character of Prophet Muhammad that she asked one of her friends to ask him on her behalf if he would marry her.
The Prophet (peace be upon him), accepted the proposal and married Khadeeja, who became his first wife. She would go on to be the first believer in his Prophethood and his first supporter. Marrying a righteous spouse is one of the best decisions one can make in life, and Khadeeja understood this. She married the best of men, and became from among the best of women to ever live. May Allah be pleased with her.
Translation - Urdu حضرت خدیجہ بنت خویلد ؓمکہ کی ایک بہت ذہین اور پاکباز کاروباری خاتون تھیں ۔ وہ دو مرتبہ بیوہ ہوئیں اور بہت سے لوگ ان سے شادی کے خواہاں تھے لیکن انہوں نے ان سب کو ٹھکرا دیا ۔ حضرت خدیجہ ؓ نے نبوت سے پہلے حضرت محمد ﷺ کی کاروبار میں خدمات حاصل کیں کہ آپؐ ان کے لیئے کام کریں۔ اور انہوں نے آپؐ کو اپنے ایک ملازم میسرہ کے ساتھ ایک تجارتی سفر پر شام روانہ کیا۔ یہ کاروباری دورہ بہت کامیاب رہا اور میسرہ نے واپسی پر حضور اکرمﷺ کی شاندار شخصیت ، ایماندار اور قابل اعتماد فطرت کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا۔ حضرت خدیجہؓ آپ ؐ کے کردار سے بہت متاثر ہوئیں اور انہوں نے اپنی ایک سہیلی کے ہاتھ حضور اکرمﷺ کو شادی کا پیغام بھجوایا۔
حضور اکرمﷺ نے ان کا پیغام قبول فرمایا اور حضرت خدیجہؓ سے شادی کر لی جو کہ آپؐ کی پہلی زوجہ بنیں ۔ اس کے بعد آپؐ پر ایمان لانے والی اور آپؐ کو حوصلہ دینے والی بھی پہلی شخصیت بنیں ۔ نیک مرد یا عورت سے شادی کرنا کسی کی زندگی کا بہترین فیصلہ ہو سکتا ہے اور حضرت خدیجہؓ یہ بات جانتی تھیں۔ انہوں نے بہترین مرد سے شادی کی اور روئے زمین کی بہترین خواتین میں سے ایک ہوئیں۔ اللہ ان سے راضی ہو جاوے ۔
