physical examination
This comes from a physical examination report of a patient admitted for stroke symptoms ... disorientation, incoherent speech, unusual behavior, memory loss. The doctor writes:
"Paciente conciente, cooperadora, tranquila, orientada .... En posición libremente elegida *sedención*, marcha no valorada, adecuada coloración ..."
I don't find this word anywhere in a medical context, nothing in KudoZ or Google Translate, and the DRAE also doesn't have it. Does "[en] sedención" mean "seated" or "sitting"? I'm only guessing this because of resemblance to the Italian "sede" (seat) or "seduto" (seated).
I'm also stumped by "en posición libremente elegida" ... but will ask that as a separate question to keep the glossary entries clearer.

Yo estoy igual de confudida que vos....
Me parece que tienes razón al decir que podría referirse a que la persona se encuentra sentada... que decidió voluntariamente estar sentar, permanecer en esa posición.
Saludos!!

Discussion
The word they probably should have used was "sedestación", which seems to be the official medical term for a sitting position. "Sedentación" is pretty common too, with the same meaning. This "sedención" could just be a contraction (by error or typo) of "sedentación".
