Japanese term

指-機-0126-85

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
The text is a product specification guide for a glass flame processing unit.
In the section where it talks about meeting safety regulations for the Japan Gas Association, it mentions this phrase between parenthesis in a sentence about gas shutoff double valves.

安全技術指標(指-機-0126-85)に基づく二重ガス遮断弁設置

The sentence prior to this is: 社団法人日本ガス協会の「工業用ガス燃焼設備の安全技術指標」に従った機器構成

Any help would be appreciated. I had assumed it was about a specific safety regulation of some sort, but I'm not sure.

On the chart at the above link, the second column from the left shows a little bit of explanation about this particular set of safety standards (it's the column with the heading "日本ガス協会"). The fourth row of the table talks about "安全遮断弁の設置要求", which seems to apply to your sentence. Although it doesn't list that exact index number of 指-機-0126-85, it might be what you are looking for. That standard defines the specific requirements for safety shutoff valves as "2台直列に設置
(遮断1秒以内)".
As far as the translation of this specific code, I get the feeling that "指-機" is an abbreviation from something longer, and they just took two kanji out of the long name of the section to make a shorter reference code. I've seen this before in test reports labeled things like "ホーホー1" where there really isn't any meaning to the kana, it's just some type of phonetic abbreviation, almost like an acronym in English. In your case, you might be better off simply translating it into ローマ字, like "Shi-Ki-0126-85" or something.

I should add that you could probably find the precise regulation specified by that particular code in this book:

http://books.google.co.jp/books/about/工業用ガス燃焼設備の安全技.html?id=...

Or, you could click through here and sign up to try to view the document (seems to be about 700円 to view one document, but I didn't look too much into it):

Unfortunately, I don't see any freely available copies of the standard anywhere on the web.
