Hebrew term

Company ID number

Hebrew to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
In a company ID number I have two abbreviations and I need to find out what they stand for.

The number is divided into 3 sections and looks like this:

"samech,bet" Ordinal number "Zayin"
5 000000 23

what do "samech, bet" and "zayin" stand for?

Many thanks,
Suzan

Yes, it might stand for identification. However, I still think that those are just numbers. Bhatslakha

Clarification Actually I was asking what "samech, bet" and "zayin" stand for as abbreviations.
It didn't appear right in the layout. The following ID number is divided into 3 sections in a table and I need to know what the abbreviations are.

"samech,bet" - 5
Ordinal number - 000000
"zayin" - 23

Can "zayin" possibly stand for "zehut" or "zihuy"?

Thanks.

samekh bet is check digit

samekh bet stands for sifrat biqoret, which is usually translated as check digit. I've seen control digit but it sounds like Heblish to me.

No idea about the other one.

control number

samekh bet stands for sifrat bikoret

Zayin might just be the equivalent of the letter G as part of the number.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Eynat : Sifra= digit, not number, and it's check digit in English.
