No, it´s not porridge. Look at hyperdictionary´s definition: "a spicy dish that originated in North Africa; consists of pasta steamed with a meat and vegetable stew"

Why would you think it is porridge? Couscous has nothing to do with porridge. It is a dry dish, nothing "porridgy" about it.
