English term

eq.

English to Chinese Tech/Engineering Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
Context:

A 100 ml 3-necked round bottom flask was charged with 3.0 g (15.8 mmol) of O-ethyl (cyclohexylmethyl)phosphinate, 30 mL (9eq.) of hexamethyldisilazane and 0.5 ml (0.25 eq.) of chlorotrimethylsilane.
Need I translate the “eq.” and how? Can I do it as “30 mL (9×15.8 mmol) and (0.25×15.8 mmol) ?
Thank You in Advance!

Non-ProZ.com Aug 27, 2004:
Hi I still hold that here 30 mL (9eq.)may mean 30 mL (915.8 mmol).
Eq. Here most probably eq. mean O-ethyl (cyclohexylmethyl)phosphinate mol equivalent, not Ũȡ
Non-ProZ.com Aug 26, 2004:
Thanks! But it is strange that mmol and eq. are used concurrently.

Thanks, Jianming.

All your text is talking about the quantity of substance, not their concentrations. So ofcourse it is 当量. And eq. IS 当量.

容积等量值

Equivalents per litre (Eq/l). The number of equivalent weights of a species dissolved in 1 litre of solution. The equivalent weight is that weight of an element or compound which will react with 1g of hydrogen or 8 g of oxygen. It is the atomic weight divided by the valency. For monovalent ions it is the same as the molecular weight. Also expressed as milliequivalents per litre (mEq/l).

不妨译为「容积等量值」。
