French term

SUAD

French to English Medical Medical (general) abbreviation of a medical condition
Hi all -

I am translating a medical report about a patient with life-long severe medical conditions.

There is a field for the attending physician (she lives in an assisted living facility) to fill out indicating the principal diagnoses.

There appears "SUAD" and I am not sure what this abbreviation/acronym stands for (although it appears to be connected to "constipation chronique").

Here is the context:
PARALSIE CEREBRALE INFANTILE
EPILEPSIE
DEFICIENCE MUSCULO-SQUELETIQUE
CECITE - SURDITE
SUAD - CONSTIPATION CHRONIQUE

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Michael

Discussion

Michael Meskers (asker) Oct 28, 2021:
Thanks for the inputs - and note to Bashiqa Since it was brought up: I would be happy to answer questions but have been working some 14 hours a day for a number of years now. That is while working around serious health issues. That is the short version.

So if this is an issue for you, please don't weigh in on my postings.

"Indwelling urinary catheters
An indwelling urinary catheter is inserted in the same way as an intermittent catheter, but the catheter is left in place.
The catheter is held in the bladder by a water-filled balloon, which prevents it falling out. These types of catheters are often known as Foley catheters.
Urine is drained through a tube connected to a collection bag, which can either be strapped to the inside of your leg or attached to a stand on the floor.
Indwelling catheters are sometimes fitted with a valve. The valve can be opened to allow urine to be drained into a toilet, and closed to allow the bladder to fill with urine until drainage is convenient.
Most indwelling catheters need to be changed at least every 3 months."
