I am translating the terms and conditions of an Italian life insurance policy and I'm stuck on "assunzione del rischio." I know the term "assumption of risk" as something completely different legally, regarding whether or not an injured party knew the degree of risk involved and was negligent.
Here, we're talking about insuring a person based upon their current health condition, age and other determining factors at the time the policy is stipulated.
What is the correct way of expressing this?

acceptance of risk
"assunzione", like "realtà", is one of those Italian terms that always creates translation problems, whether in contracts or articles of incorporation, etc. I normally translate it with "acceptance", although you could use assumption or bearing of risk. As a secondary matter, avoid "stipulate" as a translation of "stipulare". You enter into a contract (agreement) and you take out an insurance policy.
