Polish term
Pojara
Polish to English
Other
Slang
Document type: a rap-based poem/lyrics
Situation: two people sharing one cigarette. The one who asks for it calls their half "pojara''.
Used by young Polish people with bad habits. I would like to know the most popular slang term which may be used by two adult men (in their early twenties).
A few possibilities can be found on http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sharing a cig... yet they seem to be used relatively rarely by small groups of people.
A sample sentence in Polish "Zostaw mi pojarę" roughly speaking means "Let me smoke a half of your cig".

I just interviewed a couple of people (African American and Caucasian) in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, NYC, where I work now. Those are some generic responses that I received.

a buss down (verb: to split a smoke)
Split a smoke jest mi znane i czesto uzywane, ale niestety to znowu czasownik
zwykle zapytasz sie kogos: wanna split a smoke? to bylaby oferta podzialu
"a buss down" to juz moze byc rzeczownik - koncowka papierosa zachowana na ciezkie czasy. Niestety nie slyszalam tego nigdy w uzyciu (czyli slang nad slangami)
let me get a buss down - to prosba do osoby wlasnie palacej o polowke paperosa

give us a drag / leave us a few drags
it's BE and not particularly down-and-out. Slang, alright, but it depends whether your use of "bad habits" is euphemistic or not :) and if so, to what extent? if it's a particularly criminogenic environment, it might be considered a bit soft - not sissy-soft, but still soft. but if we're talking regular "dresiarze" here, then, sure, "gimme/give us a drag, mate!"
